Have patience with all things - but first with yourself. Never confuse your mistakes with your value as a human being. You are perfectly valuable, creative, worthwhile person simply because you exist. And no amount of triumphs or tribulations can ever change that.

Therapy Services:

Individual Counseling: This service is best utilized to assist individuals that are struggling to cope with their relationships, stressors, and change of life events.

Family Counseling: The family is a complicated system that may often fall into roles, and habits that ultimately disrupt the goal of connection within a household. Commitment to therapy can provide healing, increased understanding, and disrupt generational trauma.

Therapeutic process:

Most individuals that come for counseling are seeking assistance because there is a problem or something is just not right in their lives. Everyone is looking to develop a life that involves purpose, balance, and a sense of fulfillment.

In my work I often assist clients in developing empathy and compassion for the pain or parts of themselves that appear as obstacles.

Therapy will be challenging at times as we move towards those areas that are uncomfortable. Learning to shift our experience and understanding of our weakness/pain/suffering. Healing and change take TIME, and does not occur overnight. Often the seeds planted in therapy may not take root until much later. In a world that demands instant satisfaction, and progress there can often be frustration with the self, and the therapeutic process. However, the Lord brings all things in His time. Therapy combined with His grace can shift these areas that once kept you stuck into the very vessel that leads to your transformation and growth.

Clients are often worried that a therapist is going to force them to talk about their deepest areas of pain the first few sessions. However, that simply is not the case…unless you want to. Just like every other human relationship it takes time to build that foundation of trust. Therapy is no different in that regard.

Methods of Therapy:

I often utilize a number of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic, Interpersonal growth skills, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Play as Therapy

My specialty is working with adolescents; however, I also treat adults, and families. Clients often present with the following: Depression, Trauma (PTSD), Anxiety Disorders, Relationship Distress, Mood Disorders, Life Changes, Parenting Assistance, Adoption Issues, Attachment Issues, Grief Counseling, Interpersonal Difficulties, & Crisis of Faith, Stress, Anger, and Conflict.
